Energize Appalachian Ohio

 

Zane State College is centrally located in southeastern Ohio within 20 miles of three advanced energy projects.  

Through EPIC and funded by Energize Appalachian Ohio*, Zane State College provides customized short-term job training to unemployed, dislocated, and incumbent workers.   

Training encompasses both traditional and alternative energy production.  Energy efficiency, environmental protection, and resource management are all key elements of the training modules. Entrepreneurial training and internship opportunities are also available.

  

The training includes such topics as:

  • Green construction
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Energy efficiency
  • Renewable energy generation

 

 A sampling of occupations addressed by the project include:

  • Energy auditors
  • Geothermal technicians
  • Solar thermal installers & technicians
  • Weatherization installers & technicians
  • Welders, cutters, & welder fitters
  • Wind turbine service technicians
